Sam Telling’s goals for life are to be constantly open-minded, flexible, consistently curious, driven, and committed to helping others. The Montana we live in today is a product of the miners who fought in the streets of Butte and the progressive leaders who led the charge at the 1972 Constitutional Convention. They had the foresight to protect our lands and waters, our right to collectively bargain and our access to quality public education. When Sam is skiing the slopes of Discovery, paddle boarding on pristine mountain lakes, running by the wildflowers in protected wilderness areas, or going to school, Sam is mindful of Montana’s proud, progressive legacy. Working to enjoy and maintain that legacy by asking legislators to support public education, educating himself on climate change and food security through the Mansfield Center in Thailand, and volunteering for candidates and causes is something Sam has strived to do and will continue to do.
