We envision a Montana in which young people drive policy discussions and their friends to the polls; a Montana in which young people turn out for each other, just like they turn out for the issues they care about; a Montana where young people’s voices and actions echo through the halls of the State Capitol and the local school board; a Montana where young people’s votes define elections and the make-up of our government. We believe in a Montana that believes in us.

While anyone can be young at heart and Forward Montana Foundation welcomes participation from all people, Forward Montana Foundation's focus is on Montanans from high school aged to 30ish, which face particular barriers to their civic participation.

Our Theory of Change

If more young people vote and advocate civically for public policies that reflect their values, a more supportive climate will be created to advance public policies that better the lives of young people and all Montanans.

This change will happen faster if more young Montanans have the leadership skills and training to be effective civic advocates.
