TAILYR ANN IRVINE

Tailyr Irvine is from the Flathead Reservation in Montana. She is a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and has a passion for photographing life in Indian Country. She is currently studying photojournalism at the University of Montana School of Journalism and minoring in Native American studies. She chose to pursue photojournalism because of the powerful window that photography offers into other people’s lives and perspectives. She has worked at the Char Koosta News in Pablo, Montana and the Billings Gazette. After college Tailyr plans to collect and publish stories from Indian Country as well as pursue a career in journalism.
