KIERSTEN IWAI | BOZEMAN, MT
Nominated by Kristi Chester Vance
Kiersten Iwai is an advocate, trainer, and community organizer. Her childhood in San Diego, CA inspired her to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. After graduation, she decided that she had enough of the rain, and moved back to California to continue on a path of combatting climate change through greenhouse gas inventories. There, she discovered her passion for community organizing, the perfect fit for her extroverted and driven personality. She moved to Bozeman, MT to continue her career with the Sierra Club, trading her surfboard for a pair of skis. Currently, she works as a Campaign Associate for Stand.earth and Weekend Advocate at Haven, while pursuing a MPA at Montana State. She also serves on the City of Bozeman’s Design Review Board. If not in a coffee shop, you can find Kiersten exploring mountains or dancing in the streets.
