We are seeking one field fellows to complete direct voter engagement in Bozeman, Montana. This will include voter registration, volunteer recruitment, and some event planning. No previous experience needed; on the job training will be provided. This position will work directly with the Director for Eastern Programming and the Bozeman Field Organizer to achieve field goals and metrics in a timely fashion.
Field Fellows will conduct civic engagement efforts on Montana State University and Gallatin College campuses as well as at community events from August 8 through November 18. This will include but is not limited to voter registration, voter mobilization and event planning. Occasional travel and a willingness to work unconventional work hours will be necessary to fulfill the expectations of this position. You won't be tied to a desk, you'll meet lots of people, and you'll make change happen at the grassroots level.
Forward Montana Foundation is dedicated to training new leaders through hands-on grassroots activism; as such, the fellowship provides lots of opportunity for professional development. Applicants should be self motivated and accountable while bringing a sense of humor to their work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and prioritize locations for voter registration efforts
Identify and prioritize opportunity for voter mobilization efforts
Meet set field metrics each week
Work with interns and staff productively and actively
Recruit and train volunteers
Conduct data entry
Passion for progressive politics in Montana
Exceptional communication skills
Enthusiastically engages in conversation with strangers
Able to work weekends and evenings
Comfortable in costume
Experience with Google Docs

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a temporary stipend position reporting to the Bozeman Field Organizer. Field fellows will be paid $1400 over the 14 week fellowship.
