Born and raised in Great Falls, Darby is an alumna of Montana State University, where she studied English Literature and Biochemistry. At MSU, she had the honor of coordinating Sustained Dialogue, a dialogue-to-action program that brings people together across lines of difference to learn from one another and address campus issues. In her role with Sustained Dialogue, she organized and facilitated the first Common Ground retreat - a 3-day off campus dialogue retreat - at MSU and served as an Undergraduate Fellow at the Sustained Dialogue Institute in Washington, DC. Darby is an AmeriCorps VISTA alum, having recently completed a year of service building capacity at the Bozeman Area Community Foundation (BACF). Her greatest achievement at BACF was empowering her community to give over $700,000 for local nonprofits in just 24 hours. Darby is also active in her community by volunteering for the Pride Foundation and mentoring LGBTQ youth.
